Painted Joy

Papertrey Ink
Make It Monday
Painted Brushstroke Backgrounds
Ok so it did take a bit of time to pull out those paints! I was really glad I tried...it took alot less paint than I could image and well it worked. So I used Dina Wakley from Ranger the Heavy Body Acrylic Paint/ Lime and Ruby. For the bit of white Deco Art Acrylic Paint White. I took Dawn's instruction to heart and tried not to get crazy once you started because you really did not need much to get the effects.
For the rest of card I die cut out Phrase Play "Joy" in a gold foiled metallic, I cut the border from PTI edger dies. The sentiment is from the Wet Paint Holiday stamp set. All stamped in Delicata Gold. On the bottom I placed PTI Sheer Basic pattern paper/ the stars to add some interest without over whelming anything else.

Falalala Bling

Bling It Up
For my card I picked Christmas theme. I blinged up the LF Falalala word die and the mini wreath. My glitter paper was the LF Fawndamentals sparkle cardstock in "Holiday" in  reds and greens. My sentiment is from the LF,  'Winter in the Park' stamp set all emboossed in white. My Christmas patterned paper is from Photoplay "Here Comes Santa". The word die was cut twice..once the diagonal of Santa paper, then on the glitter paper. The glitter word was inserted in the bottom opening all popped up with the rest of the Santa paper.

Enclosed Birthday

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday
Incorporating Packing Dies on Your Cards
For my card I used the Enclosed Die Series : Birthday. It comes with a full set to make a present package tag... so I turned that into a shaker card. This was made masculine (for the DH) by using the PTI Little Argyle pattern paper. Since the the color Weathervane came out it even made this paper easier to use! I used the set Woderful words: Birthday for the sentiment die cut out in Soft Stone.

Crepe Paper Birthday

Papertrey Ink
Make It Monday Challenge Glitter Inlays

This weeks challenge is to use Glitter as part of the area or inlay potion of the design element of the die. Well I do not use loose Glitter as it create much crafting mess (the DH one rule buy everything you want but no glitter!). So sacrifices must be made... and small amounts of high quality glitter paper is bought and used well sparingly! So really this one compromise I can live with...there are so many other things to buy:)

For my card today I used the background paper from the Hooray! patterned paper set. Then die cut out from Sweet Blush cardstock, the For You Tags Die set: using the "Happy"die and in pink glitter paper in the Basic die. The Birthday die and  sentiment is from Wonderful Words: Birthday.  I stamped the 'to you' in Hibiscus Burst Ink.  Then added stitching around the edges using the Lil' Inker die. May Arts pink twine and some Echo Park enamel dots finished the card off.

I have been away on vacation but made it back in time for Stamp-A- Faire; and have to it was so much being there! The event went by so fast..like being at wedding, next thing you know it is over!  I learned  so much..especially making a journal books... I only hope to do it again.

Take It Easy

Papertrey Ink
Make It Monday : Above and Below
The idea here is to have element above and below the sentiment areas. So for my card today I used the Take It Easy set to make a get well card today. This was a difficult challenge in that finding stamps/ dies and keeping them in portion with balance. I did pop up my sentiment to help tuck the elements in the area.
Overall it is good and I love my girly pajama's!

Ink Blending on Colored Cardstock
In this weeks challenge we are to do ink blend on colored cardstock! We normally do this on a lot of white. This I must say is an amazing look. I used Autumn Rose cardstock and blended with Pure Poppy Ink as this was a darker color and would show up better on the card. PTI Apple Prints was the choice of stamps all embossed in white. The teacher die cut three times and stacked up for depth.

Spot Color Word Die Cuts #320
Well hello all! I love flowers but on paper only...the real spring is killing me!
On to the challenge ...this challenge is to create a line background then die cut out a word ...then color reinsert finish card. Well that is  the basic direction. This from our weekly host designer Betsy V. of  course she had lots more to say and show! This was fun to do... While stamping my peonies I mask them to give them a bit of depth. Using the "mom" die cut cut was a bit of a risk b/c it is on the thinner side but it does height and fits flower theme so nicely.

Forget Me Not Friends

My card today for this challenge was  made mostly from the Forget Me Not flower set. The idea is stitch our stems on the card to add that sewing touch to the card. I forgot how I do enjoy my stitching and wish I would do it more often.I also doubled my frame so that my flower could rest just a little higher while still add double tape one one of the lower lilac flowers . I did put clear sparkling Wink of Stella in the centers which no one can see of course!

Blue Outline Peonies

This week challenge is to take outline stamps and stamps over solid stamp images hence adding the color and interest to the card. Stephanie Gold was the PTI designer this week demonstrating this technique and challenge this week.
For my card this week I stamped out my flowers in 3 different colors using the Floral Sketches solid flowers. Over that I then stamped the outline flowers from the Peonies On Parade set. My sentiment is from the Penned Elegance set. I placed some enamel dots from Echo Park to finish it off.

This release week at PTI so we make card that was inspired by the release. For me it was the Big Apple  Die Tag/Gift card piece and all the teacher sayings.
I thought of my Apple prints stamps and die set. I also used the Teacher die from the Wonderful Words:Teacher set. I stamped out the first card in Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel Ink; the top apple was masked while the other were stamped in. I used the edgers die and twine from May Arts. Sprinkled With Joy Scalloped Treat Box

Lawn Fawnatics- Fun With Dies
I paired my favorite Sprinkled with Joy Set with the Scalloped Treat Box. This kitchen set is a favorite go to for all kinds of reasons ..but when the add on to scallop box started to come out I just had to make one for Kitchen Treats feel.
I started with  LF Perfectly Plaid/ Iced Latte paper, stamped everything out in some LF Jet Black Ink and did some coloring in Copic markers. I stamped out the entire kitchen stove before assembly and made the add- on in the same paper. Then piecing the oven in place for it to open, The oven window is covered in acetate adding to the stability. By not cutting into the box at this point the baking cookies show nicely. Additionally I stamped up the handle. I made some open shelving for the other kitchen bits to rest on placed on the sides of the box. Inked the box in LF Merman Ink to add a finishing touch.
For the back I added the Spring House add on roof cut in LF  Knock On Wood patterned paper. I added the LF  'For You' sentiment on the back. I lined the scalloped edges on the inside tops with some red paper for added color and strength for closure. I even see more ways to make this...gosh only so much time in a day!

Purple and Polka dots..so I was inspired by the paper started to use the the colors for my shamrocks. Just adding a little spunk to the cards. On the top card I have some blended enchanted evening for the background. The brown shamrock is Delicata Brown shimmer ink.
My second card base paper is spring moss paired with the PTI Egg Hunt patterned paper. The new Purple Allure cardstock adds the color pop! I used Limeaid Ice Ink which pairs  with lot of the yellow greens well (an amazing ink!).
The third card I used Purple Allure and Lilac Grace...oh yes two new favorite sisters! The paper is from G45. For the last two I used the PTI  Frame It/ Oval die. I made enough bits to make some for family and friends as I know they will enjoy these Irish Blessing sentiments.

Telephone Talk

 New
Past
Challenge is to take card you have made in the past and transformation it...add it / change it.
The card I made in the past (a MIM challenge) ..when you opened it the 'hello stayed on the back panel of the card and pop up to the front. It was was the focal point of card ... and I thought it was kinda cute. The phone was stamped with lots of white space. So I made the new one with the same PTI Noted Hello die only dropping in the patterned paper on the top panel only. The phone is die cut from the set PTI  Heart to Heart # 4;  using a sentiment from the set. The loop is from a border die by MFT. Small heart from Stampin Up. I used Hibiscus Burst cardstock. Patterned paper from Stephanie Barnard. The stitching is die  cut from Little Inkers.I hope you like the new one !

Of course if Betsy was here she could help me pick out something a lot faster ..lol! Olympic Bitty Bears

MFT Olympics Challenge
Event # 4 Speed Card Making

So this was speed card making! I am a fun person and I just want to know I love playing along! Try hard not show anything really bad..(even though I may think its good!). So I had everything laid out and a plan ..(thanks Stephanie..watched the video) and good thing! Idea here was to use paper products and only die cut and quick as wink color the bears All went until I (due to speed) miss cut the bear with red balloon. Due to my genius plan I did stamp out six ...just in case ..I colored him in die cut, on it went. My phone timer goes off...done. I was down to wire. All the paper thing went on easy peasy..die cut fine (I have an electric die cutter)... there was no way to do anything else! Yeah like having a plan not fan of speed timing! So I posted a before  and after I am sure you can figure out which is which! Since I used my time my phone just goes back to start. This has been a fun challenge series..always giving us a way to stretch our skills and hopefully win a extra MFT stuff...Thank You MFT!
