Danke Schon

Memory Box Challeng/ Giving Thanks

Poppy Stamps/ Plaid

So I am up for this challenge using Plaid and Thanks. I just got some of the ever popular Lawn Fawn plaid paper..in the Autumn colors (OK I bought it all the seasons:).I used a bit of PTI Summer Sunrise paper to cut out the Memory Box "Danke Schon" and Poppy Die for the tea set and cake stand in PTI Vintage Jadette card stock. My background card stock is Terracotta Tile. A little Bittersweet Orange Twine from May Arts, and some brunt orange sequins finish my card.

Season's Greetings

PTI Make It Monday #265
Layered Dry Brushing
I tried this technique from  Lizzie Jones. I took the paint brush , mixed up some PTI Pure Poppy with the Distress Paint White Picket Fence. Then I brushed as directed. OK, being honest, this was my fifth  try! This one came so much better. Finally got the hang of it (hopefully).
For the rest of card, I went holiday.
I trimmed the new PTI Simple Bow down on the Christmas Cuts Tag collection, making an ornament. For sentiment I used the Wet Paint Holiday Dies and Stamps. Cutting out the "season's" in American Crafts Glitter "Wow" paper. All stamped in Encore Metallic Silver Ink.

B & W

PSC # 25 Back to Black
Black and White Challenge
The idea here was to create a card in all Black and White. So this basic Gingham paper from Pebbles got me going. I off set the main birthday image to create a pop of B & W, added the Bow and String Die above the scallops on the paper.

Wednesday Challenge
Gift Card

Ahoy Mateys! I used the gift card die cut by Sizzix Stephanie Barnard all papered up with Echo Park. It is the Ahoy Matey collection. I die cut out the ship  pieces and placed on the edge of the fold so the flips still can turn. Adding an additional piece of card stock on the outside then stamping where to find the buried treasure :). When you open it up you find the Birthday die cut from Memory Box. What you cant see is behind the ship, is the pirate's  sword  placed to help give the ship some support with an extra design element.
These where very fun to make, and just cant wait to make more!!

Masculine Flowers

PTI Make It Monday #261
Using Floral's on a Masculine Project
I went with Garden Gate set. Many men do garden so.. making this not the frilly version kept more manly. The fencing is birch wood paper, and adding in those beautiful Melon Berry colors with Autumn Rose and Harvest Gold flowers. My pot and watering cans are die cut out of copper foil paper to add to the texture.
PTI/ Garden Gate Stamps and Dies
Little Inker/ Background Stitched Swirl
MFT/ Spring Garden

I made a second card, because you know once you start ...it came out more masculine as well not frilly but could not pick between the two. This time trying not use black, adding that color of fall. The other set of flower are from the Forget Me Not set. Both would be just fine for a guy! I highly doubt they would save them any way!

MIM / Create Along With Us : August 2016
Something that inspired me this release was all the Halloween release items most specifically the stitching candy corn by Erin L (BTW loved that die  and did buy it!!). I also can relate to some of comments of liking a more friendly/ fun looking Halloween... so I pulled out my Candy Corn  Shaker die, decided to make it a little differently. I noticed not even stitching dies have to be stitched look great! Mine is just shouting Trick or Treat and having some fun.

Sketch Challenge
I inked up my clouds with Memento Summer Sky Ink using my Picasso Tool. Always make beautiful clouds. The frame was made from light birch, a golden sun.A perfect card to send that send that summer memory note or photo in. I really had dig into my MFT stash to find the word summer. It's from an older set called Let's Picnic, even at that the other word had to be masked out.

New Card

The idea was to redo any of the SAF cards that you felt were not your favorites. While I liked the card in general I was not happy really happy with it. The gold I used was not as gold as I wanted. So this time I used Delicata Gold Reinker and it was just beautiful!!The Golden Glitz color is gorgeous! Already used on something else. Does take along time to dry. SAF sure did encourage me to get very inky!

Masterpiece Inspirations with the Team
I created this card using the artist Warren Kimble, "Welcome Pineapple". Team designer Melissa Phillps choose this artist. I don't if captured simple folk art/ clean line look but it is close as it going to get:)
I used the older more traditional pineapple from PTI  First Fruits collection.Stamped my pineapple in Delicata gold, and the rest in Ripe Avocado on some craft card stock. Trimmed that in Ripe Avocado paper. As base I placed on the Chicken Scratch Gingham paper. The thanks is die from PTI Grand Curvy Greetings. There is no welcome die or stamp that fit here or even my stash...um mm!? A block lettering did not feel right..after all mine is a card!

Notched Flowers -String Art PTI/ MIM #255

Papertrey Ink
Make It Monday # 255- String Art
This weeks challenge was to make a card using your dies adding sting art. I went with the PTI Notched flower dies. I used the two medium and one small. The large one seemed to over whelm the whole card for this project. These did work nicely b/c I never had matching stamps (totally missed that one!) and return on the pattern is very flower like.
Using the PTI Pale Peony paper I edged the notched flower PTI Hibiscus Burst Ink, did my string art with some May Arts Twine. They are layered over the New Leaf die cut out in craft paper, inked up in Hero Arts Wet Cement Ink then edged in Tim Holtz Distress Crayons/ Gray. I used Soft Stone card stock and the polka dot soft stone patterned paper all from PTI. The sentiment is from PTI Global Greetings.

PTI Stenciling with Texture Paste MIM #254

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #254
Stenciling With Texture Paste
I decided to give this one try ... because well I actually have the paste I thought well now is as good as time to use it (or lose it because it is going to turn into cement!). In fact I made my own stencil out of the Cover Plate Peony Die. Just  cut it up in some card stock, a bit of taping, and turned the paper around so I did not break the petals between. It worked.
I definitely got to get some real stencils but I like flowers mostly so I will just wait for some other designs as they come out. The texture paste grabs color so easy, and was even easier to work with than I thought!

Ideas Start With Coffee

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop
So I picked some bright happy summer coffee cups for those chats to come with new plans while drinking that favorite beverage! I used Stamps and dies from Verve Stamps sooo cute.
To help my coffee "pop" it was die cut in brown card stock, then I die cut it in  some yellow fun foam. I left some of pieces in the letters to add more color. The pattern paper was then die cut at the corner, then trimmed up. Glued the card stock word to the yellow foam and inserted the word with liquid adhesive at the top of the word. The entire panel was placed on foam to match the height then adhered to the Summer Sunrise colored card base by PTI.
