Free

CAS-ology
Free

So this one was not really anything goes but "free"... what that might mean to you. I went patriotic given the timing of year. Also I own many patriotic theme stamps being a supporter  of OWH thought the years.  (Not to that I just did happen to buy some new ones this year ;)
So I picked this sentiment [Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave] from  the Waltzing Mouse Stamp Set/ USA 1776 set and paired with the Taylored Expressions USA map stamped in Red Royal. The map was stamp again in Nautical Blue by Memento then the stars paper pieced on the red map. Tiny little stars by Starform added some glitter. The other 4th sentiment is from same WMS set .
Happy 4th of July to all!

OWH Sketch 178: Thank You

OWH Sketch #178
Thank You
I followed this sketch loosely this time. I have making some OLC cards this week so putting some layers on well just got a bit nuts:) I wanted to use these lanterns from Basic Greys Konnichiwa so I pulled my colors from there. I  doubled inked a wildflower from My Favorite Things and stamped up a companion sentiment. I added a double banner  for color. Hope you enjoy the card.

Hooked on You

Cas- ology
Fish
Found a little mojo to do a fish card! I put together a variety of stamps for this one. The sentiment is from Crafty Secrets "Fishing Buds" an older set but very cute, I liked the fish and hook from Paper Smooches "Briny Blue" better. A tiny bit of shadowing around the base and fin of the fish with a T1 Copic marker. Then I added the hearts from Stampin Up "Oh Whale" collection. I know I will donate this one to OWH for the Love pile ...Hope you enjoy the card.

Rosemary and Thyme

One Layer Wednesday
Spice Girls Challenge
Create a one layer feminine card using a spice or flavoring (see blog for complete detail and for more inspiration)
My Card:
'Rosemary and Thyme '
Funny thing... I was looking at fish at Cas-ology going through the design teams post for some mojo, so I stop off at Ardyth Percy-Robb blog. Wow I see this little challenge that caught my eye ! I knew immediately what I wanted to do . How clever is this challenge! Always looking for a creative stretch expect that I thought of something right away and still wondering about the fish!
I took this Hero Arts clock stamp and paired it with a rose from the Flourishes stamps set. Colored the rose in with a distress marker (Tim Holtz) using spun sugar and a bit of water. I used some clear Wink of Stella around the edges of the clock to make some sparkle. A T1 Copic used to shade and ground the images. The cardstock is from Neenah Vintage Cream.

You Mean the World to Me

CAS-ual  Fridays
MapQuest
I went with the more masculine card here, definitely could go to that man in your life.
Lucky me I had bought the Hero Arts OWH fundraiser stamps, there was my world!  Then I had went to the Casual Friday set  Only You and this sentiment was split apart and fit perfectly I might add. This little wood veneer from Studio Calico looked like a tiny chevron.
The small photo is a close up of the sparkling heart. I just had to share it in all its glory. It was glammed up in Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.
The inky stream is from PTI  Watercolor Wonder.

Get Well

Play Date Café
Challenge 186
The challenge is to use black and white with a splash of nectarine (color). I went with this Penny Black stamp. Stamping twice then popping out the color point of the umbrella and sentiment. The closet color ink I had was the Hero Arts Fresh Peach (cousins right?) I tried keep it lighter and not over inky! I die cut out additional rain drops to add to stamped images. Some clear gems for some sparkle.

VW Bus

Simon Says Stamp Challenge
Transport
I was going through some older stamps and came across these. VW bus just never go out of that retro 60 's style. The tilting of the image is to add to the bumpy ride! The sentiments are older Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards...its that old offset typewriter print . I took me 8 times practice stamping it to figure that out (Yikes!). I just wanted to use it because it fit theme so well. So I guess be keeping these stamps.

OWH Sunday Sketch 177

I made this card today for the sketch challenge. The stamping on the image was done loading up the stamp with  different color inks (Simply Chartreuse and Autumn Rose from PTI) so if they mixed a bit it was fine because its all nature and so artsy. I went just stamped the sentiment right on the image left a bit higher so it would  meet at the  dent of the 'tail". The main image and second panel are popped up, I also placed some tiny gold border sticker for added subtle  interest.

I went with 4th of July Card! I stamped my fireworks in 3 different inks, stamped the square star frame as base for my banner. Stamped the banner out. Since the sentiment was large it was stamped out a second time then the '4' was cut out placed so its full number could be enjoyed. The banner is popped up.

Happy Anniversary

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge
Trend Watch: Gold
I went with a wedding anniversary theme (not 50 I mean really there are many in between right!).So many renew vows these days and they are such the party!
I stamped out the images in encore  gold ink then did some highlighting with a Marvy Gel Excel Metallic gold pen. Then the images have glitter in the center areas (Like the hearts) mixed with a bit gold ink to give it sparkle and shine (theses areas look a bit darker but are really glittery). I added some gold gems to continue the celebration toast.

June Monthly Challenge: Water

Not really needing anymore Father Day cards so I thought I would start the practicing masculine general greeting. Its time to start using the other side of the color wheel !!!(the darker side) Ok that's true it does not all have to be dark ...
Here I went with Webster's Pages Yacht Club papers. I mixed them so that sailboat is smooth sailing on the stars and has a sailor's red sky delight.

OWH Our Daily Bread Designs
June  Card Challenge (For every 25 cards posted they donate 1 box free shipping to OWH)
Water
Since today challenge was water I decided to let boats stay in dock today. I pull out some Clear Art Stamps "Seaside". The sweet little girl was inspiring to me today. Having no sand like paper I decided to stamp  on text paper (an idea from Sandy ... from that funny camel card here!) so I think it worked fine. I paper pieced the hat and added a bit of Wink of Stella glitter glaze Clear (totally OWH safe unless otherwise stated... does not rub off). Stamped out the sand dollars and cut and distressed them. The background paper is impressed with the linen plate from PTI. Paper used are from Authentique Seasons Summer 6x6 Bundle.

Modern Nauti

Avery Elle May Challenge

Simon Says Stamp
Anything Goes

This picture was the inspiration point for the challenge. I did a bit of a different look for my nautical approach.  For my card I made a gradient cardstock out of inks colors (Memento/ Nautical Blue, Bahama Blue; and Hero Arts/ Tide Pool) then cut my chevrons using the Chevron Border Die. My idea was to capture that beautiful jewel tone water somehow. There where so many wonderful patterns to choose from in that little row boat, I went looking at the stamps that could sail along for the ride.  Hope You like the card.

Tuesday Trigger: Feather Weather

Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Trigger
Feather Weather
I was inspired by the overall softness of the look and the colors.
Rounded Diamonds  by Avery Elle is what I ended up using here (This set just keeps getting used!). The stamp is a 'feather' but ended being  a resting place for my birds. The sentiment is stamped from the  all Squared Up set and just nests in there nicely. I used few pearls from Hero Arts and Candi Dots. The cardstock is soft stone by Papertrey Ink.

Anything Goes

This week challenge at Paper Smooches is  this picture! I went purse shopping with Paper Smooches using Retail Therapy.  So I stamped out these purses on the different color papers and cut them all out and the smaller coin purses are popped up. The sentiment is from the same set, and the little heart is enhanced with a bit of glitter from Wink of Stella  / Clear. I placed every thing on some Soft Stone patterned paper by Papertrey Ink. Small dots are paper Candi enhanced a bit with T1 Copic.
