OWH has more challenges to play along. This is for Bev T who is from the San Francisco area so I had to post something..living in the Bay Area myself. Here is my card for this challenge. Cosmo Cricket paper, still have this left over from who knows what year!? I used a Sizzix die Holly and Berries for the leaves. The sentiment is from PTI and the cardstock is Aqua Mist. I pulled out my Hero Arts ( Punch) inks to use since many of mine from PTI are just worn out. I know so many posts in one day...going to relax and watch DWTS.

I made this for Card Club. The pumpkin is Diamond Glazed and lined with black paper... these took long time to dry!

I used more Graphic 45 Alice in Wonderland paper. The fence is punched with big Martha Stewart scary fence punch. This is all placed on PTI Terracotta Tile Cardstock.

Spooky Bats

Bats!!

I made this Bats for Halloween. This came from the Stampin Up blog "So Shelli". This my version. I used the Stampin Up petal cone die for base. The wings are made from a banner shaped die then punched with a 3/4 ths round hand punch. I embossed the paper with black sparkle embossing powder using versamark ink. The stamp is a Hero Arts large web background stamp. This really added some zip to these creatures. I placed some goolely eyes and made the fangs by using star punch. The paper is coredinations black/ yellow combination. Now I just have to decide on what tasty treat to fill them with...Yum.

I made these for Card Club and for me to send out during November. I used the main wheat image from First Fruits (PTI), the sentiment is from Amuse. I was so pleased that they fit so well together. The ink is the Encore Gold. At first I thought the image would not stamp well but who knew that it stamped the details nicely.

Happy Mothers Day!!

Made some cards for the Moms.

The first card is CASE'd from the Paper Crafts magazine..Ok so the one in the magazine is better but I came close. I used Hero Art stamp set and some thickers. The second card I used some scraps to pull together this card (WOW), I loved that violet purple color. On last card I thought of these Jenni Bowlin papers to give the feel of the many faces of Moms.

All the talk was about using stickers as your focal point and build your card around that. I ran to my stash of unloved stickers and these jumped out. Well it is Easter time and all so I thought they have been in there soooo long it was about time to use them up!!! Really some stickers are show stoppers so this will be good way to just show case them.

On the card above I embossed the plum pudding (PTI) card stock with a argyle embossing plates, cut out the egg shapes with my nestabilities. The sentiment is from Stampin up, and the bling from Hero Arts.

Gift Card holder Challenge - Moxie Fab

I made this holder/ card into a purse by just cutting the side edges in a diagonal. No template needed. I decorated the front in doilies by Basic Grey placed over papers from Sugar Rush also by Basic Grey. I added some sparkler button with some bling by Hero Arts. The sentiment is from PTI. I made the faux buckle from my nestabilities out of some gold paper.

On the inside I made a pocket out of vellum to place a gift card. I stamped on the outside a sentiment from Crafty Secrets Glamour Girls. It says "I want it all and I want it delivered".

I made a Label/ Card for my wine bottle. We bring bottles of wine when we come to someones house for dinner or party. What a better way than just a bag that will sit in a closet. I gold embossed this image from Hero Arts Artistic Grapes then cut it out. I stamped the sentiment from another Hero Arts set CL389 (lost the package for the name). I cut a label from my nest- abilities (Labels 21) then wrapped it around the bottle. I choose paper colors to blend in with the wine label there. She will be picking the winners by random.org to win latest big card magazine!

The thing is we can post a set of cards with holders for our cards. She is picking the winner by random.... so I guess I have a better chance to win a Moxie Fab prize! But I have already won because look at my cards already for my stash..we really are to pass these forward so will see. My purse was made from a Sizzix die "Purse #2". It is an open style perfect for placing Velcro or magnetic closures. You could really fancy with this or just go with my usual CAS style. This holds A2 cards easily.

So they mentioned CAS...I can do that! I been doing a little scrapbooking and these Basic Grey Oliver collection has been out..so I am obsessed on using these train papers for little ones. Her inspiration photo had this piece of linen (dishtowel?) so light and airy and wanted some the feel for this card. I dry embossed the center image then chalked colored the rest in in all in some linen card stock from PTI. Placed it on Terracotta card stock, placed on some de- embossed white card stock. I used a tiny tag (PTI) stamped with the sentiment then clipped it up with tiny clothes pin.

Choo Choo Trains

I made some cute birthday card for little ones. Coloring is a bit of challenge for me, so I tried my hand at in the first card. I tried on my first attempt to use many colors and well it was let say frighting. So I ended up just coloring parts making it easier on the eye and keeping it with paper scheme. This focal point stamp is Toyland Train from Cornish Heritage Farms. All paper is from is from Basic Gray Oliver collection.

The second card focal image is one of the little pre made cardboard sticker images from the collection pack. I cut out all the buttons and trimmed them out various paper patterns then sewed some twine in.

Retirement can be all citrus happy! I have this lime green polka dot paper (big surprise) and with those cupcake paper liners I knew I had to do something, So we now see what is on my sub conscience mind. I took the picture with a flash but it washed it so this is with no flash. That lacy edge nestabilities die is getting a work out a real must have.

I stamped the sentiment twice to get the circle effect, placed another circle layer of card stock towards the center placed those ever so beautiful card stock ribbon die to work and stamped the partner sentiment. Black buttons with lime green hemp to finish it off.

A Simply Scalloped Birthday Card

Not a lot fluff here just a simple birthday card. I used these tiny stickers around the scallops, that look like diamonds in a gold setting, they really shine. There is a vellum leaf below the birthday sentiment to add some interest.

It was that chair the rustic country feel sent me right to the Cosmo Cricket - Wanted line. Paired with Ocean Tide color card stock from PTI was just the right shade.I knew I wanted flowers so I chose these Friendly flowers from Paper Smooches inked in the orange and cranberry tones. A sutler sentiment twisted below to outline the label die cut finished my card. I found those tiny tinny mosaic squares for added little touch.

Unity Monthly Challenge
The challenge was to use hearts..I could do that! This fire place stamp is from Jolly Little Winter

set. On the stamp those are mittens drying in front of the fire place so I changed them to hearts a punch from Stampin Up fit the bill here. I also used some glossy accents for the flames after it was paper pieced. The sentiment is from the Comfy Cozy set. Can just dream of sitting in front of a warm fire place with your sweetie! I drew base of the fire place out with the lightest gray copic marker. Pattered paper by Cosmo Cricket (Chemistry) placed on orange zest by PTI. That ribbon is 1inch silk by Creative Impressions.

Card Revisited

Made this stamped image in card class. Problem was it was too large and my first stamping did not turn out. So when I came I revamped the card. It was cut down then placed it on Kraft card stock then a background of plum pudding card stock. Stamped a new sentiment and lavender buttons. A whole new look.

Happy Valentines Day!

Yes it has been along time since my last post (way to long). This does not mean I have not been creating. My craft room went dark during my long vacation in October. Then our local Scrap store closed:( Lost allot of creative juice. The Holidays, a cold and a tummy bug got me down but not out. While in bed I picked up my needlepoint to help fill some creative void.

I made the city of love for my son and the girlfriend in SF. I love that city Hero Art stamp. The light is bit off and all the papers do match. For the second card I used PTI April Showers. My umbrellas where left over bits from a paper crafting project. What a fun way to use those bits.

Baby boy card for a Mom to be! This card was die cut using my Sizzix die the overalls. I doubled the paper and set down from the cut lines to get non cut fold line. You can do this easier on some dies than others. I enjoyed placing all the little details. Now I just have to go out and get gift!

Here is my card I made for this challenge. I know this late but I wanted to share. I went with the pie / baking theme and a blue ribbon win! That is what I like to look at at Fairs. All the baking sewing and quilt makers displays. So I know how important this is to those competing. I did not get to the movie but tried with the card. Speaking of baking I was baking a cake last nite and while turning it out the whole thing split!!! So I had to start all over and still get up a 500 am(Yikes) and still finishing up a this card so I am posting it away looking for (((HUGS))) then I am going to bed:)))

Cinema Saturday - It is Good to be Queen!

So I rented the movie and only reinforced the idea it is good to be Queen!! The movie was colorful and Alice is still being knocked around:) Well of course in the end she is strong willed as ever. Still love tea party scene as my favorite and who could not love the rabbit page. I created a a scenic fold out card (Shutter card?). In the movie much of the flooring was a black and white tile including the battle scene so I picked that as my background. I added the borders from a group of stickers called casino night. I will use this card to invite a friend to a local tea room for a special lunch.

I went with a literal inspiration for my card. Those bright yellow window trim with a deep blue background makes me think of Greece. On the card I put a texture to give it the same feel. What a beautiful inspiration shot.

So here is my card and this where I ended up:) This that Japanese paper that is so vivid it just seemed to alright to use a larger piece. I used PTI Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Sorbet card stock all on Vintage Cream. A little sponging with Hawaiian Shores. Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Its always about love! In movie they appear to be normal people in all but they are not. Young love so passionate between Edward and Bella, and many hurdles they face to hook up. The vampires always seem to dress well and even the young had much style. I did not "color" the couple because everyone was so very pale if not blue toned. In the end we really do not know if they marry and get to meet their destiny as a couple.

Here is my card for week #5. The technique for this week is masking. I masked the flower, the one in front is in a darker pink ink Raspberry Fizz, the back flower is stamped in Hibiscus Burst Ink from PTI, My patterned paper is Green at Heart by Basic Gray. Card stock by PTI Spring Moss, Vintage Cream, and Raspberry Fizz. Stamps all by Stampendous Spring Swirls and Mayflowers. I used diamond glaze to make the happy really shine.

There is so much merriment and wine in this movie! I was so inspired by the beautiful Italian background where so much love was blooming among the witty and timid.

This movie had such a cast characters both on screen and as an ensemble cast of Hollywood names. I always enjoy Emma Thompson as an actress, again playing that last to be married spinster. My parchment requirement is a small border on the card, left hand side. Parchment paper can be a bit fussy...I am just saying! I picked this for the movie because this is all how it started. He was thought to be answering a the call out from the pageboy when in fact all he wanted to do was send a telegram so they thought he was Mr. Kaplan. It just seems that all he ever needed to do was get to phone. (LOL) The paper piercing is hard to along the black edge of card and along the side of the patterned paper.

This an a standard A2 card trimmed on the landscape corners to make a purse like shape then decorated with lace dollies paper from Basic Gray. The bling is from Hero Arts. On inside I made a gift card holder to add to the pocket book feel. Will make a great Mom's Day card ( or any occasion card for a us ladies) and gift all in one. You can always any sentiment to match your occasion! The buckle is cut in gold tone paper from a nestabilities.

The stamp is a clear art stamp and she is saying:

"I want it all and I want it delivered"

Oh yes this definitely going to my Mom!

I created two cards. The first card is when they where bidding on the "hampers" picnic baskets while showing who they really loved. She was not playing coy then you could see then how much really cared for Curly. That scene showed such depth for the characters in the movie.

The second card was just to show off the cutest happiest piece of corn ever! The movie had corn and chickens everywhere!

I will keep this in the craft room for awhile. Now I have to get more!! My son would like one as he has a picture of him and Erin in front of the place of fine arts in SF. I found this challenge at Paper Craft Planet! This is the sketch as posted, I decided to turn it on its side. Kept this CAS since there is so much detail in the scene. This colored with copics using memento black ink. For my background circles I used that thin wood paper. I gives so much texture and soft warm color. The sentiment is from the Flutterfly Friends collection all rearranged. The paper card stock is from PTI. I hope you enjoy the card.

I made those funny bunnies ( House Mouse Stamps) into an Easter Card. I used the sketch from Paper Craft Planet. I used PTI Craft Cardstock for the base. This trigger of the dress inspired my creation. I picked to make a little dress card for a girl's birthday. This is paper from My Minds Eye having the gingham print with the greens and lavender as the colors. This cut from a sizzix big z die called "Dress" (no surprise there). I added some white pearls from Kaiser craft. The birthday sentiment is from PTI around and about stamp set. The butterfly is from Nestabilities it was just the right size. the butterfly paper is a tiny bit of Basic gray Kioyshi they have soft lavender color ever. The lace is sticker border from the stash. I hope you like the card.

I went with bright and happy and I believe the 80s did qualify for the bright!. The movie tagline "Thirty Flirty and Thriving" was my inspiration for the 30 year old birthday card. This movie was so fun and flirty. Jenna was really such the girl next door then magically being 30! They where doing some serious partying till her past heartstrings pulled her back. My geometric elements are the triangles in martini glass and the rectangles. This is a fun cute movie.

Here is a pencil coloring on this House Mouse Design Stamp. The first image is just stamped in brown memento ink on vintage cream card stock from PTI. Then the second image is colored in with koh-i-noor pencils. The third is blended in with the OMS. My intensity was kept soft but still colorful, click on the image for a close up ( I hope that works!). The OMS worked nicely and pencil coloring was so easy! It was easier to darken and lighten all using the same pencil. I am still taken that copic class!!

Are we feeling lucky?? Well Happy St. Patricks Day:) I know I will not be cooking corned beef, DH will get mine from the Harry's Hofbrau. More time to craft or rest.

I used K Werner cut out technique and those papers from the Depot. I used orange shamrocks cut from the circut , the color idea is from the Irish flag. All placed Kraft card stock from PTI.

Well I must say this was a little more hard. I do not know why?? I saw good portions of the movie and those are some really steamy scenes with T & I HOT! At anyway in end he dies! I was sooo upset:( So I was not going to play but then got idea to make a sympathy card to help my grieving. So there you can see my creation. I was fussing with how to close this card, I ended up placing tiny magnets under the paper so it closes with out a bunch tie things that I did want on there this time.

I picked the bear that Jonahs left behind (and the backpack in the movie) in the Empire State building, Good thing he dropped that stuff leading to the moment we had all hoped for would happen. The little boy was the push in movie for his father to love again and see him happy. It would take allot for child to feel secure enough so that he could share the parents love with others. This movie so romantic and cute.

I will be crafting and not watching the game ... but have to say St Louis is my hopeful favorite. I love those Fleur-Dy-leis images. So this a Birthday card I made and that is french for "Let the Good Time Roll". This stamp set is from Flourishes Mardi-Gras Collection. Its just one of those fun sets! The paper is Cosmo Cricket from Jolly by Golly line; Red Musical notes...love that !

Heart of the Ocean necklace

My inspiration is the necklace and the song in the movie. It was the lore of necklace in the drawing that brought attention back to the Titanic in the beginning of the movie. The connection of it all to her, Rose. It brought her back to tell her story that was hidden for so many years. When she became Rose Dawson she took the chance to die only to really live her way. She knew that she then could go on with her life. Even without her mother!

I loved the song by Celine. When she wore a real replica of the "Heart of the Ocean" (30 carat diamond and Sri Lankan Sapphire necklace by Asprey and Garrard) at the Oscars it took my breath away. It was said Celine's husband bought that necklace for her but then they donated to museum in the UK.

I was not going to play, but a weeks reprieve from CHA gets in the way so Cath gives us a extended deadline (yippee!) . So then I am looking thru the papers to make another card then I see this paper...It said that is Tuesday Trigger just add some Turquoise hearts! Easy! I know that really was not much to this but if were not for that little trigger I would have just flipped by this in my paper stack. On inside I will stamp "Happy Valentines Day" and send it off for some newly married friends.

So you might think "There's No Place Like Home" the Wizard of Oz; well in the Movie she/ they sing Over the Rainbow and many references of home. They show some tiny snippets of the movie in the movie. So my creation is Faraway Downs Farm. The entire movie was the fight over this property and the struggle to keep it running. I made plain because it was plain, dust bowl of love. Hence the choice of muted colors. When they Drover moved in the trees and grass got greener, when they fought the dust flew back in. In the end boy went to home with Grandfather, Lady Ashley and Drover end up together at Faraway Downs. Hopefully Happy Ever After!!

I loved this movie so much fun. His character had to learn to to make history, keep a steady job, get more informed. I used the time clock to represent the after midnight shenanigans at the museum. I found a variety of characters from stamps and placed them in my museum cut from the circut. I stamped and inked the the museum to add depth. My miniature is the key. The sentiment is computer generated.

This was so much fun to make, so not your usual card !!

Moxie Fab Color Challenge

A what a challenge this was! For getting these color straight was a challenge so after some searching on the web then in stores (who cannot always carry all colors) you go for next closest color. I mean even if see on web you still are second guessing at because computer screen are different and such. I mostly relate to Papertrey Ink for my baseline of stuff. Enough for now. After got my paper and colors straighted out and looking at it all long enough all these color will go great with the latest Basic Grey Sugar Rush... so I am all set:) This week was the Nestabilities release party blog hop...I did not win anything but did pickup so good techniques for cutting things out in different ways, hence my card is cut out with the # 8 label die. It came out so nice.

I love birds all kinds of birds...so when I saw this platter set it would just be matter of time before I could post something! I definitely wanted to keep it simple (one layer), the platter itself is very plain but elegant. This an image from Webster's Nature storybook. this whole set of papers will beautiful for spring. The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped in Memento Ink, Rich Cocoa. The background paper is Vintage Cream from PTI.

Cinema Saturday is back posting. I am going for it! I must confess this movie was a little much for me so I never finished the movie. I made a wardrobe with the key and heart to enter with love. The inside opens to the cold mysterious outside (OK no lions jumping) just a sentiment of thought (encouragement). I made tree sparkle with some glitter pens and put a glitter edge around the sentiment.

Scraptastic-Challenge at Capture the Moment Blog
Using up the left over bits. This was all leftover paper from other projects. I really do not have that much leftover PTI (Shocking). Since the colored/ basics card stock is 8.5 X 11 I make a center cut and use that other half for another card or inking up a design. Since the patterned paper went 8X8 I do have lot less leftover. I do have other scrap from doing my scrapbook projects. I do like hearing about how others organize...you just never know It may be the answer I am looking for.
This card used Chocolate Remix on Kraft card stock all from PTI. The button is rustic brown and tied Cream Twine from PTI. The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped in Memento brown Ink. The lamp post is a die cut piece from leftover from the Paris travel set.

Hip to be Square = Sketch Challenge Mish Mash Blog

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!I saw this post at Michelle Wooderson Blog and of course I had to play. Just quietly sailing into the New Year like the little swan... still having not finished Christmas just yet.

Base is stamped in dots and then embossed in clear embossing powder. The Ripe Avocado is stamped in Ripe Avocado (all PTI). the sentiment is stamped on some medium beige, I hoping to moon effect especially of the talk of the big moon for New Years. I added a bit of glitter trim and the holly berry 'bow'.
