Flying Hi

OWH Mid Week Throwdown
Challenge: Transportation

Simon Says Stamp
Anything Goes!
Here is my card for the challenge ! ( Had a crazy Wednesday !) I made the background clouds because no other pattern paper would seem fit well with all the other busyness  of the center image. The red paper is  mini white stars so I picked up on that and add a few in the corner. Hope you enjoy the card.

My Anchor

Play Date Café
Challenge # 183
So Very Nauti{cool}!
Happen to see this color story so fresh! I am just loving the nautical theme so there was no way I was not going pass this up!
I went with the sailboat theme in those crisp yacht inspired colors. Also wanted to capture some of squares seen  a lot of the patterns and shapes by showcasing the sailboat on a square vs. a circle. I stamped nautical blue ink in a fine houndstooth pattern onto PTI  New Leaf  paper  inspired by  the scarf in the inspiration photo. My anchor is from PTI stamped in versamak then embossed. Hope you enjoy the card .

Waving Hello

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge
Color Theme

I made the fun little card "waving hello " using color theme but my idea was as a hello from the San Francisco Bay Area. We such great sea food and sailboat theme and such it kind of represents where we live. Simon Says Stamp has a call for cards for Mandy here  ( her family) are tracking where they are sent in from about the country. I  thought waving hello is about the perfect sentiment ever to cheer people up :) I used the negative space for sails so there would be less distraction on the card so  are friendly lobster and crab could wave hello!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge
Color Theme Week

A big weekend at OWH celebrating Memorial Day Weekend with a blog hop here ! Lots of our favorite stamping companies are showing their support so really worth the look (including Paper Smooches)! So this morning I saw this sketch and here is what I came up with! I just thought of a sailboats immediately  and PS one was the one. I used an impression plate to add a bit of vertical line to the card on the upper right panel, which is popped up. The anchor is die cut out then stamped, placed some twine for more texture.  So I am playing along in the sparks color  challenge as well.

OWH Memorial Day Blog Hop
Welcome to My Blog!
Our Challenge: Thank You Cards Using a OWH Sketch
I am sharing two thank you cards for you today! Card number one is sketch 167( a favorite of mine) I used some paper from Making Memories/ Children At Play. A 'thanks' die from Memory Box. The circle is die cut out, then the panel is popped up, placed  double banners and added a bit bling. The corners are rounded only on side.  The stamped sentiment is from Stampendous.

The second card (sketch # 23) took on CAS / graphic approach with Red with and blue theme. I used a sentiment from CAS-UAL Friday Stamp Line/ Bold Wishes. The star is die cut out from Spellbinders.  Paper is from Papertrey Ink.
Every Sunday the ladies post a new sketch with an inspiration card. It so much fun to play along we learn something new every week from each other! I hope to see you there :) Leave me a comment it is always nice to hear from you!

Focus On You

OWH Mid Week Throwdown Challenge
Three of Something

Simon Says Stamp
Take a Picture: Anything Film/ Picture Related
After seeing the theme at Simon Says Stamp of course I needed to challenge myself to do something different... right?  So I made this for OWH donation pile using the Simon Says Stamp "You"  Stamp Set and Die. Great set set of use it all the time!  I do not have one of those dies that look like Polaroids so I made my own to fit my card by using a square die on the rectangle card front.

Bejeweled Cat

Less is More
Theme Week: Cats or Dogs

A Blog Named Hero
CAS Card

I went with a bejeweled pink cat with sparkling blue eyes. I had a cat (not pink but that would have been fun) when I was growing up but my niece had big hair white kitty  with the biggest blue eyes ever ! It was such a pretty cat, I will never forget her and  my cat ...they stay with you for ever! OK enough cat stories:) The cat is die cut out stamped, then popped up on the second die cut (white panel)  placed on the back panel. I placed a tiny bow ( from a kite tail) and jewels for the eyes on the cat. Hope you enjoy the card.

This weeks Tuesday Trigger is this geometric target! I went with bright paper from Basic Grey Knee Hi Collection to die cut a fun leaf from Paper Smooches collection. I used the Plano stamp as my sun/ target for my card. Did a double banner to pay homage to background. My sentiment is from Avery Elle.

Birthday Style

OWH Sketch 173
I went with the pink , black and white today. So it is bit light and dark (the stripe paper is pre distressed) . The candles where stamped then I stamped the sentiment on top of them in black, and of course had to add a bit of sequins on the candle flames! For the side element I went the paper button and bit of twine.

Use A Color as your Background (No White, Kraft, Ivory or Black)

Moxie Fab World
Wonder of Watercolor Challenge

I used Chrissie's technique that she described on the Less is More Blog: Use a white craft ink then color with your water color pencils, paint with water to blend out your colors. The results are beautiful! So Thank You! for taking out of my comfort zone with that information. I have been wanting to enter Moxie Fab Water color challenge really had nothing till today (um last day!). I mean I did go out buy the water color pencils and everything (LOL). Anyway Hope you enjoy the card.

His and Her Cards

OWH Mid Week Throwdown Challenge
Create a His and Hers Card (Use the same sketch)

JJ Bolton Blog Candy Fun
Use Avery Elle Stamp Set or Die: Rounded Diamonds

When I saw this stamp set on JJ's blog (she was doing her peek a boo) I knew I was going to be ordering it the second I could finish reading her post! So yes a little practice with this stamp set is going to help alot. Love this set. So using the same design, I made a feminine pink, then a more masculine card by using the wet cement color ink by Hero Arts.

San Francisco Love

Less is More Color Challenge
Pick Two Opposite Colors on the wheel and Create the Card
I picked the blue and the orange. What better way to show off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco (my near by city!). I don't get into the city that often so when you do its always a treat.
To create this card I stamped out the image twice, once on white then on the orange. I punched the the area out around the bridge and adhered it to card. Punched out the love die and placed on the card.

Missing You

OWH VCMP
Make a Missing You Card -Our Daily Bread Designs
For every 25 cards posted for this month OWH will get free shipping on some boxes of mail from ODBD.  So I wanted to be sure to post something, since I was just making so many cards why not one more! So I pulled out my Hero Art city stamp and stamped it twice. Punched it out in the red and carefully placed on the card. I used an older sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms then added an arrow to finish  it off.

OK so mine does not have flip flops and ice cream! I did have this beach wood like paper with these beautiful flowers just waiting for this challenge. Glossy accents made those flowers just stand out even more. Also I inked the edges in brown to liven that wood up even more. I am entering this in the Casual Friday challenge as well.
