Spring Tulips

OWH Sketch #166
Here is my card for this week sketch . I bought  pink tulips this week for Easter and that's what is on my  mind. Instead of green steams I used classic Kraft ink which is a bit brown with some tones of green in it with out being green hence the cardstock itself looks well with green. Hope you have nice Easter Day!

Runnway Inspired Challenge
Here my card for this challenge. Went a little CAS and fun. I think that stamp sentiment from paper Smooches is so funny and what girl friend would not just laugh? I went with wavy stamps for the skirt just shimmering about and just had to get a question mark in some where.

Use Stripes on Your Card

Simon Says Stamp Stamp
Anything Goes

This first I have heard of this sketch blog. Love sketches since I find them so helpful to just get to mojo going! I must thank Carol L at OWH who had posted a card, so I went and then checked this blog out.
For my card today I used some scraps from the pile and of course had to get those stripes in! I wanted to go for that springy look, such happy birds. I went with a speech bubble to add some variety.

All the Time

Simon Says Stamp Challenge
Anything Goes

OWH Technique Tuesday
Stamp with Bubble Wrap
I decided try this out stamping with the bubble wrap and WOW it really is easy and the the result are great! Well that's true you need to have some kind of bubble wrap hanging around and then of course you still have to make a card:) Yes there are other items you stamp with around the house: bottoms of glasses, cut potatoes, I saw someone win with a small cabbage! Well I buy enough stamps there has to be something there...right? Well its all in good fun.
I went to make this card all using scraps so I do not know who made all this paper unless it shows up again in my 12x12 stacks. I do that the sentiment is from Hero Arts , and the cardstock is Desert Storm by Neenah.

OWH Bootcamp

OWH Boot Camp Homework
Playing in Boot camp. This months theory is the Composition and the Rule of Thirds card grid where the intersecting lines meet and the eye follows. (These are basic design rules, umm new to me..Hey are we havin fun!!) Not that I was trying to make a gird of any sort. This patterned paper had some of my favorite colors in it  but was sort of  limited in the pattern so I put the focal point in the center and cut it evenly so it look like a group of five in the end. So I got small group of cards from this paper and it did not just sit in my stash.
Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny / Alora

I made a Mothers day card , my  box is going in the mail this week.

You know I just think this dress/ hat thing is a bit off beat but then....inspiration comes from some of strangest places! I made a shower card for a bride to be looking at the flying butterflies that have lifted from green to blue. Maybe she is thinking of all the changes ahead. The paper has a rich texture to mimic the fluff in the inspiration photo.

Operation Write Home Sketch 164
I went with a any hero card. CAS and very graphic.  On the sketch it appears that it does not go in that far but after I played with it, the "H" appeared and I went in a whole different direction.

Birthday Candles

OWH Sketch Challenge #163
Here is my card for this week sketch. I saw this paper the other day then when this sketch popped up BINGO!!:) Birthday it was going to be.  So here one of those instances where the the paper is doing some of the work. I  carefully cut the paper to fit the bottom of the sketch measurements and placed the upper portion so that my candle fire would show.

Brad

OWH Mid Week Throwdown
Tic Tac Toe
Tic Tac Toe 001

This week Challenge to create a card with the item listed in the squares. Well everything is there from the first column ..what you can't see my Brad? Well it is the boys name! OK so it is a stretch but I was making this card and there was no where to put a a real brad but I thought I would post it any way and try again next week! (I did the tutorial on Tuesday I should get extra credit!). I did some simple coloring as 'Peanut' characters are usually seen more one colored since they where in the newspapers. That does make it a bit more doable for me.

Spirelli Flower

Operation Write Home Tuesday Tutorial
Spirelli Flower

Along came this tutorial at OWH to make these threaded flowers WOW!. I had not seen them before but others said they have been around. So I was time to just do it! Besides I always need a small project on hand for just in case for the crafty friends. Well it took me awhile to get it, I finally went on You Tube. Oh and it does help if your scallops are larger (I started with tiny scalloped circle...not a good idea when starting out...ever?) Long story short project done, made a card and learned something new:) Thanks ladies!

Pattern Play

Moxie Fab World
Tuesday Trigger: Pattern Play
Here is my take on this beautiful piece of fabric. I went with Lovely Layers from Papertrey Ink. The little center flowers are from Hero Arts. I was looking to create a pattern out ink without using mounds of paper. I used the blue flower as my center starting point and created the rest of the pattern around it. I looked at the embroidered  pattern could not help but see lots of sprays of stitching. Thanks for popping by!

Cherish Mom

Operation Write Home
Sketch Challenge #162
I need to get my Mothers day Cards up a bit so that is the theme I went with today. I decided to use the big sentiment as my focal point. I used the holiday as a secondary point on the card. I first stamped the big sentiment in the pink but realized that sunglasses would have been required for the card. So I used London Fog by Memento to ease it down on the eye. I tried to soften the edges by inking them .
