Lets Go Out

Runway Inspired Challenge
Here is my second card I went in a totally different direction! I went with super brights with no neon ink needed! The gold (yellow) and black dress with those sharp pops of pink and blue made the color selection. The city scape minmicks the yellow and black dress pattern. Don't you think those women just want to go out?

Creamy Tulips

Operation Write Home VCMP

Use White or Cream / Must 3 Layers (Sentiment can be in color)

I made a white card yesterday for the Diffuser Challenge, all embossed etc. So I went with cream this time. I dreaded the embossing plate and folders(a crafting rash is setting in) so mine was use the negative space (CAS). My third layer is the added placement of the leaves near the flowers. Then added a cream ribbon and pearls, that I had to color with Copics because guess who has no cream pearls left!!

Use Washi Tape

I must admit I do not use this tape that often. There are so many colors and patterns it is overwhelming. Just went with a few of my of my favorites. The polka dot tape was placed on cardstock then die cut out, in a banner of course. I placed a second strip in a horizontal line then placed the sentiment label. Placed a bit of twine to finish it all off.

Embossing with a Diffuser

It is weekend of challenges! I decided to do the White on White challenge at SSS since the OWH challenge us to do an embossing technique from Kristina Werner, using a diffuser to make unembossed areas on your card.. So I gave it whirl. The card really came out with formal feel due to color of white so lovely for weddings and such. I might need to better embossing folders with a better suited design. I made my own diffuser and it does work. I put some white gray paper behind the die cut sentiment because it really needed something. I popped up the entire front and added some ribbon and a bit of pearls.

Challenge is to Create a Card with a Heart On It
I created this new card using the chalk board technique, it is fun to do. Besty Veldman has a couple of tutorials over there to walk you through the whole process here. OWH: MWT State Flag Color Challenge

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge
Color Challenge: Use Your State Flag Colors
Hello from California! Well last week the challenge was make cards for kids, I got just a bit stumped and let pass but when the flag challenge thing popped up...the light bulb went off! I made a card for a child. You know it was the state bear that got me going. So there we have it colors and a child card...all good:)
The main image was stamped then cut out. Double stamping in two different color inks for the grass made it look fuller. Then a bit of copic maker to fill the blank spots.

Have A Heart

Simon Says Stamp Challenge
Have A Heart
The weekly challenge is to have a card with a heart on it. Well I created this CAS with Simon Says Stamps "Just A Love Note" . I pulled together the borders and stamped them out. Looks easy ..well not really . Between getting them straight, even, and the inking to be just right ...it really was quite the challenge but sooooo worth it. Going to use this for the big day coming up.

OWH Sketch 159

Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge 159
I made some cards for this sketch the top one. The second was made earlier in the for Papertrey Ink anniversary celebration week. These images are free downloads here . So I printed them out one on cream and the other on white. They are very nice set of images, love that! I made a third one but I think it has "Ikea  effect" (Sandy explained this in  the vlog here) so I post it anyway. The tile patterned paper was part of the stash.

Tuesday Trigger:  Cross My Heart
More fun! Having a great time making Valentine / love cards. So you know I am going to play along. The chair and the rustic look, the flowers, and the cross stitch heart all I hope to capture it all in my card. I used a wood grain stamp in Versamark on Aqua Mist cardstock from PTI. The heart stamp is from Basic Grey Nordic Holiday (It really pays to keep some Xmas stamps nearby!). I hope it feels romantic ...Happy Valentines Day!

Wine Tag

Papertrey Ink
Anniversary Contest Challenges
The mission is to make a Tag or some crafty paper item but use an inspiration photo as your starting point. So I picked Dawn McVey's picture from the post. The colors are what I like the most as they are happy with out being so bright... at least for today. I lined my wine tag with aqua mist paper leaving the double ring section unglued. I layered my center embellishment with 4 layers of paper for a bigger impact.

Year of Flowers

Papertrey Ink
They are having a a 6th Anniversary Celebration. part of the challenge is to enter by making a card. The down side is all the time frames are short so I need to put my card making on speed dial! So the thing is to use the Year in Flower set (they give other options) to make a card since they are releasing dies to match. My set is the smaller size flower set where they had all 12 flowers in one set but smaller with less sentiments. I do not think the new dies will match the smaller set unless at the full reveal they will be there. Wait and see.
For this card I was inspired by Erin Lincoln who years ago made a detailed card with 3 flowers on it, all colored etc.(sorry no link way long ago) it was a stunner. Well mine took a different approach the super fast easy get real lets make a card version, cool right? So no coloring, stay in the same color zone with lots of stamping goodness. I made no sentiment so it will take on the note card approach.
